Frequently Asked Questions - Cancellation Policy
What is your cancellation policy for guided fly fishing trips?
For our standard guided fly fishing trips, cancellations are handled as follows:
-
7 days or more before your scheduled trip: 100% refund
-
Between 7 days and 72 hours before your trip: 50% refund
-
Within 72 hours of your scheduled trip: No refund. The full trip cost will be charged.
Because we reserve professional guides specifically for your trip, last-minute cancellations often prevent us from filling that date.
Why do you have a cancellation policy?
When you reserve a trip, we commit a professional guide, equipment, and schedule exclusively to your group. Last-minute cancellations make it extremely difficult to rebook those dates, especially during peak fishing season. Our cancellation policy helps protect our guides while allowing us to continue providing exceptional service to every guest.
What if I need to cancel my trip?
If your plans change, please contact us as soon as possible. The earlier we know, the more likely we can work with you and potentially fill your reservation with another guest.
How do I cancel my reservation?
Please contact Colorado River Outfitters directly by phone or email as soon as possible. We'll confirm your cancellation and let you know whether your reservation qualifies for a refund under our cancellation policy.
What happens if I cancel more than seven days before my trip?
You'll receive a full refund of your deposit or any payments you've made for your guided fly fishing trip.
What happens if I cancel within one week of my trip?
Cancellations made between 7 days and 72 hours before your scheduled trip are eligible for a 50% refund.
What happens if I cancel within 72 hours of my trip?
Cancellations made within 72 hours of your scheduled trip are non-refundable, and the full trip cost will be charged.
What if bad weather is in the forecast?
Colorado weather can change quickly, and many of our best fishing days occur under cloudy skies or light rain. We do not cancel trips simply because rain is in the forecast. If severe weather creates unsafe conditions, your guide will determine the safest course of action.
What if river conditions are unsafe?
Guest safety and fish welfare always come first. If high water, unsafe river conditions, or other circumstances prevent us from safely conducting your trip, we'll work with you to reschedule or discuss available options.
Can I reschedule instead of canceling?
Whenever our schedule allows, we're happy to work with guests to reschedule their trip. Contact us as early as possible, and we'll do our best to find another available date.
What if someone in my group becomes sick?
We understand that unexpected situations happen. If someone in your party becomes ill, please contact us immediately. We'll review your reservation and discuss the options available based on how close your cancellation is to the scheduled trip.
Do no-shows receive a refund?
No. Guests who fail to arrive for their scheduled trip without prior notice are considered no-shows and are responsible for the full cost of the reservation.
Have additional questions about our cancellation policy?
If you have questions about your reservation, deposits, refunds, rescheduling, or our cancellation policies, please don't hesitate to contact Colorado River Outfitters. Our team is happy to explain the policy, discuss your reservation, and help you plan your guided fly fishing adventure with confidence.
