Matt Fletcher
Matt Fletcher is a co-owner and professional fly fishing guide with Colorado River Outfitters, bringing years of experience, technical knowledge, and a genuine passion for Colorado’s fisheries to every day on the water. A highly skilled angler and oarsman, Matt has built a reputation for his ability to read water, adapt to changing conditions, and consistently put his guests in position to catch fish.
Known for his fishy instincts and attention to detail, Matt is equally comfortable introducing a first-time angler to fly fishing or helping an experienced fisherman refine techniques and pursue challenging trout. His knowledge extends well beyond simply knowing where the fish are—Matt understands the insects, seasonal movements, river conditions, and subtle changes that can turn a good day of fishing into an exceptional one.
What truly sets Matt apart is his personality and approach to guiding. He’s patient, easygoing, hardworking, and genuinely enjoys sharing the experience with his guests. Whether floating one of Colorado’s legendary trout rivers, teaching a new technique, or hunting for the fish of a lifetime, Matt brings the knowledge and professionalism of a seasoned guide while keeping the day relaxed and fun. As a co-owner of CRO, he also plays an important role in maintaining the high standard of guiding and guest experience that defines Colorado River Outfitters.
Brian Hilbert
Brian Hilbert was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. He began his full-time guiding career right out of high school pursuing wild steelhead along the Oregon coast in the fall and winter and guiding for fly-out lodges in western Alaska throughout the summers. After moving to Colorado in 2016, Brian immediately fell in love with our local fisheries where he has guided and taught fly fishing full time since. Brian is also a signature fly designer for Montana Fly Company, many of his patterns are guide favorites throughout the Rockies. When not on the water, Brian enjoys bird hunting with his Labrador, Cooper, and tying flies for his clients and friends.
Sam Kinney
Sam grew up in the PNW outside of Seattle and has called CO home since 2009. Raised on fly fishing, his love and passion for the sport developed while attending the university of Colorado. Guiding since 2018, what keeps him coming back for more are those moments where everything comes together and the satisfaction and joy it brings his clients. In fly fishing every cast is different and so many things have to go right that it requires constant attention and being present in the moment. When everything goes right, from the cast, to the mend, to the set, and then fighting and landing the fish, those moments and memories are incredibly rewarding. An educator at heart, Sam spends his winters teaching Avalanche safety and education courses and works for the USFS studying snow strength. When not on the water or snow, he’s at home with his wife, daughter, and dog planning their next family adventure.
Matt Weldon
Matt Weldon is a veteran fly fishing guide whose passion for the sport, exceptional work ethic, and easygoing personality have made him a favorite among clients and fellow guides alike. With years of experience guiding Colorado's renowned trout waters, Matt has developed a deep understanding of river systems, trout behavior, and the techniques that consistently put anglers on fish. Whether he's floating the Colorado River, Eagle, or the Roaring Fork, Matt approaches every trip with professionalism, patience, and an unwavering commitment to delivering an unforgettable day on the water.
Paul Killino
Born and raised in South Jersey, Paul started fishing as a young boy on family vacations to Central Pennsylvania and the Jersey Shore. Inspired by his love for the great outdoors, wild rivers, and the beauty of the Rock Mountains, Paul developed an undying passion for the sport of catch and release fly fishing. "My mission is to share this passion with others while sustaining the delicate beauty of our precious rivers and the species that inhabit them." Paul has been fishing the Rocky mountains for over 25 years and guides year-round. Paul's guiding history is marked by a high energy level and professional attention to deadline and detail. He demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of conveying credibility and enhancing customer satisfaction.
Tim McAdow
Tim McAdow has built a reputation as one of Colorado River Outfitters' most dependable and well-rounded professional guides. With years of experience rowing Colorado's rivers, Tim combines exceptional boat handling, technical fly fishing knowledge, and a calm, patient teaching style that immediately puts both clients and students at ease. Whether he's introducing a first-time angler to the sport or helping train the next generation of professional guides, Tim's focus is always on safety, professionalism, and creating memorable experiences on the water.
As an instructor for Colorado River Outfitters' Oar Certification & Guide School, Tim brings real-world insight gained from hundreds of commercial float trips. Students appreciate his ability to simplify complex rowing techniques, explain river dynamics in an easy-to-understand way, and build confidence through hands-on instruction. His positive attitude, attention to detail, and passion for mentoring make him an invaluable member of the instructional team. Tim is committed to helping every student leave the course with the skills, judgment, and confidence needed to become a safe, capable, and professional river guide.
Chase Kelly
Chase Kelly is a lifelong Colorado angler, growing up in Aspen and exploring the local rivers, creeks, and lakes with a fly rod in hand from the age of three. As he matured, he developed a passion for float and wade fishing on the larger rivers throughout the state, honing his skills and deepening his love for the sport. Chase became a professional guide at just 19 years old and is proud to be a product of the Colorado River Outfitters Guide School, where he refined his techniques and learned the CRO approach to providing world-class fishing experiences.
For Chase, the best part of guiding is helping guests create unforgettable moments on the water while teaching them to fish at the highest level. Off the river, he is a junior at Colorado Mountain College in Steamboat Springs, where he competes as a member of the alpine ski race team, balancing his love of the outdoors both on the water and the slopes.
Tim Suplee
Based in Frisco, Colorado, Tim Suplee has been guiding professionally in Colorado since 2011 and brings more than 15 years of experience on the water to the Colorado River Outfitters team. A highly accomplished fly fishing guide and expert oarsman, Tim has spent his career navigating Colorado’s rivers and helping anglers of all experience levels become more confident and successful on the water.
Tim’s experience behind the oars also makes him an important part of CRO’s Oar Certification & Guide School, where he serves as one of our certified guide instructors. His extensive knowledge of river navigation, boat handling, safety, and professional guiding allows aspiring guides and private boaters to learn skills developed through years of real-world experience.
On a guided fishing trip, Tim is exactly the kind of person you want sharing the boat. Fun, calm, cool, and collected, he has an easygoing personality that makes guests feel comfortable while maintaining the professionalism and attention to detail of a veteran guide. Whether introducing someone to fly fishing for the first time or working with an experienced angler, Tim’s knowledge, patience, and passion for Colorado’s rivers make every day on the water a memorable one.
Alex Minnillo
Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Alex Minnillo is one of the newest additions to the Colorado River Outfitters guide team. His passion for fly fishing began during trips to visit his uncle in Alaska and quickly developed into a lifelong pursuit. Growing up in the Midwest, Alex cut his teeth chasing smallmouth bass, Great Lakes steelhead, and the wild brown trout of Ohio’s Mad River, giving him a diverse angling background long before making Colorado home.
Alex moved to Colorado in 2020 and has continued developing his skills as both an accomplished angler and talented fly tyer. His understanding of fly design, presentation, and trout behavior gives him a technical approach to fishing while still keeping things simple and approachable for his guests.
On the water, Alex is known for his calm demeanor, patience, and gentle teaching style. He has a natural ability to help new anglers build confidence without overwhelming them, while still providing the technical knowledge experienced fishermen appreciate. His passion for fly fishing, easygoing personality, and dedication to his craft make Alex a quality addition to the CRO team and a guide we’re excited to have representing Colorado River Outfitters.
Mike Agostinho
Originally from near Corning, New York, Mike Agostinho moved to Colorado in 2015 and quickly fell in love with the rivers, mountains, and lifestyle of the Vail Valley. Fly fishing became an important part of that connection, and today Mike brings his passion for the sport and the outdoors to every trip he guides with Colorado River Outfitters.
As both a fly fishing guide and history teacher, teaching comes naturally to Mike. One of his favorite parts of guiding is helping anglers develop new skills, understand the river, and become more confident on the water. His patient and approachable style makes him an excellent guide for beginners, families, and experienced anglers looking to expand their knowledge. For Mike, sharing Colorado’s beautiful rivers with guests isn’t just a job—it’s an opportunity to create a meaningful experience and introduce people to a place he genuinely loves.
When he’s not guiding or teaching history, Mike enjoys tying flies, skiing, cooking, and spending time in the mountains. His passion for teaching, appreciation for Colorado’s rivers, and welcoming personality make him a valued member of the CRO guide team.
